Online learning
It's said that online learning has changed the face of the education system and it is better than classroom-based learning, though I partly agree with the last sentence. Classroom-based learning will always stay an integral aspect and a popular tool of the education for me as well as for many teachers, though you can create blended learning environments combining both classroom-based learning and network-based learning to keep up with the time and with the new learning styles of Ss. This combination is more acceptable for me than using online learning separately. However, learners have individual preferences, backgrounds and priorities, and these facts should always be taken into account when teaching as learners may reject either online or face-to-face environments if one does not meet their expectations and does not fit with their individual learning styles. On the other hand, I don't deny the fact that online learning will be beneficial for adults in remote areas of Armenia, as they can study on their own terms, at their own pace, and there will not be any expectations on attendance. But again I would like to mention, that they have to have digital skills to be effective online and be able to communicate with content, peers and lecturers. On the other hand, the program or the learning management system that they would use for studying should be easy to use and not complicated. As for the pedagogical implications-to ensure the quality of teaching in an online English teaching program, teachers are required to create an online atmosphere which is helpful to student engagement, intellectual development, and personal connections, collaboration and building trust among group members. Teachers should keep online presence and always communicate with Ss, interact with them, which will help to bond with Ss as you get to know them better and develop a sense of how they are coping with the class and course materials. The relationship between Ss and teachers is fundamental aspect of Ss' performance and success like in classroom-based learning. Teachers should also give clear instructions, encourage Ss' participation in online discussions, give appropriate feedback to keep track of their performance. Teachers should select such materials that are really significant to facilitate understanding of the content, at the same time keeping in mind class objectives and Ss' linguistic levels. To conclude, an instructional design, which includes objectives, methodology, activities, evaluation, is important in online learning that shows the Ss how to achieve the course objectives. To ensure the quality of learning in online environment Ss must be responsible and autonomous digital learners. They have to use their time effectively, plan, collaborate, be reflective on their own learning.
