The benefits of OER for Armenian EFL teachers

Through Open Educational Resources teachers have the opportunity to enrich their teaching practice. They can compare their own teaching materials with other teachers all around the world as well, so this environment again opens great doors and creates community for developing teaching and learning processes. There are many sources of open educational resources available to help teachers customize their classes to the developing needs of their Ss and make those resources their own. OER will play an integral part of Armenian EFL teachers' teaching that will give them access to knowledge that would otherwise be completely inaccessible to them. This kind of freedom of knowledge will allow them to break the barriers that hold people back from getting education. Through open educational resources Armenian EFL teachers can find and introduce new activities into their classes. They can offer lots of resources to their Ss as well that they can use independently. Teachers can find already created lesson plans, worksheets, interactive games, interesting videos and many other resources that are free and available for all which is wonderful. As OER allow adaptation, teachers are free to edit, delete from. Teachers will save time and energy by using resources that have already been created. Armenian teachers can take online courses from widely known educational institutions which will help them to improve their digital skills and will be beneficial for their professional development. To cut it short, these resources will improve Armenian teacher's teaching and their Ss' learning. I have used resources from British Council (which is my favorite) that provided me with classroom materials and lesson plans that helped me organize and successfully conduct my lessons.
